What is Zapier?

Zapier is an online automation tool that connects your favourite apps, such as Gmail, Eagle, Office 365, and over 750 more.

More information can be found here.

Create a Zapier Account

Now you are ready to start creating Zaps. The first thing you will need to do is sign up for a free account. Type in your name, email address, and a password. And that’s it–no credit card required.

Setup Lead Importing from Facebook

1. Once you've logged in it's time to make a Zap.

2. In the first step When this happens … select Facebook Lead Ads. Once selected, a new option will appear called Choose Trigger Event. Leave this as New Lead and click Continue.

3. You will then be asked to sign in to your Facebook Account. Once you've logged in you can click Continue

4. You will now need to Customize Lead your lead. Select your Facebook business page and select the From as Default (Anyform). Once done click Continue.

If you are the admin on more than one page be sure to select the correct page.

5. Select Test trigger

For this step you can either create a lead on your facebook page to test or use the dummy information that Zapier provide.

6. We found a lead! - Select Continue

This will have either used the actual lead data or dummy Zapier data.

Facebook have the first and last name in the same field, Eagle do not.

We need to make sure when the information is imported into Eagle that the fields are populated correctly. To do this we will need to split the first and last names.

7. The next option is to select your Do this...

Select Formatter from the Helpers list (or search for it)

8. Select Text as the Action Event and select Continue

9. Set the following options in the next step and then select Continue:

  • Transform = Split Text

  • Values = Full Name

  • Separator = [:space:]

  • Segment Index = First

10. Select Test & Continue then Done Editing

11. Press the blue + button to add another step and repeat steps 7 & 8 but this time set the following options in the next step and then select Continue:

  • Transform = Split Text

  • Values = Full Name

  • Separator = [:space:]

  • Segment Index = Second

12. Select Test & Continue then Done Editing

13. Press the blue + button to add another step and search for Eagle Software and select Eagle Software (1.0.3) OR a later version if available.

14. For Choose Action Event select Create Contact and select Continue

15. Connect your Eagle account to Zapier, click Sign into Eagle Software and then select Authorize on the pop-up then select Continue.

To complete this you will need to have contacts permissions

16. Add each field of data from the Formatter and the Facebook Lead Ad

Fill in all other fields with the relevant data as required. Eg in email select email. If you are wanting to add these contacts into a group you will need to type the group name in. For more than one group separated by a semicolon only, no spaces

Now you can select Done Editing and Enable your Zap!
