When it comes to managing your portals in your Eagle account, it can sometime be hard to know how to set your portals so that you have full control over where you will be advertising your listings.
This article gives you a breakdown of all your available portal setting options to help you best manage your portal pushing.
Managing your default portal settings
Eagle allows you to select default settings for each individual portal you have enabled in your account depending on whether you want any new listings you created to be sent to that portal automatically or if you will be manually choosing which portals you want to advertise on.
To choose the default settings for each of your portals;
Go to the 'Settings' tab in the top right corner of your screen
This will give you a new menu of options on the left side of your screen. Select 'Integrations' from that menu.
Once in 'Integrations' scroll to the 'Portal Pushing' section.
From here you will be able to see all of the portals that have been set up in your account as they will have a toggle option for the default settings stating whether it has been set to either 'Enabled By Default' or 'Only Properties I Select'. a. If a portal is set to 'Enabled By Default', when adding a new listing in your account, once that listing is made 'Active' that will be sent through to this portal automatically. b. If a portal is set to 'Only Properties I Select', when adding a new listing in your account, you will need to manually push that listing through to this portal if you want it advertised there. c. You can update these default settings for each portal on an individual basis. For example, you may have all of your 'Free' portals set to 'Enabled By Default' so any new listing you add will be sent to those portals automatically while your paid sites may be set to 'Only Properties I Select' so you can decide which listings you want to advertise on those portals.
Toggle each portal over to whichever setting you wish to have as your default (you do not have to 'save' anything once you have done this, all updated will stay as once you leave this page) and these changes will now be reflected in any new listing you add from now.
These default setting can be manually overridden for an individual listing by going into the 'Portals' tab of that listing changing the 'Auto Update' settings.
Enabled By Default
If you have your portals set to 'Enabled By Default', when in the 'Portals' tab of your listings, your 'Auto Update' will automatically be set to 'Yes'.
If you DO NOT want to advertise your listing on a particular portal
If you're listing a new property that you may not be advertising on all of your enabled portals but your 'Auto Update' is defaulted to 'Yes' as standard, while your listing is still set to 'Draft' status make sure you go to your 'Portals' tab and switch the 'Auto Update' to 'No' for any portal you do not want to advertise this listing on and 'Save' that change before setting your listing status to 'Active'.
Once a listing status is set to 'Active', that listing will be sent through to any portal that has the 'Auto Update' set to 'Yes' and all future updates made to that listing will sent through to those portals automatically.
Only Properties I Select
If you have your portals set to 'Only Properties I Select', when in the 'Portals' tab of your listings, your 'Auto Update' will automatically be set to 'No'
If you are adding a new listing and your 'Auto Update' is defaulted to 'No', will you need to go to your 'Portals' and manually update which portals you want to send this listing through to.
If your listing status is still a 'Draft', go to your 'Portals' tab and switch the 'Auto Update' to 'Yes' for any portal you want to advertise your listing on and then 'Save' that change. Once you have done this, when you go to your 'Listing Details' tab and change your listing status to 'Active' your listing will push through to any of the portals you have set to 'Yes'.
If your listing status is already 'Active' and you decide you want to advertise it on the portals will need to go to the 'Portals' tab and switch the 'Auto Update' to 'Yes' and then click the 'Push Now' button and then 'Save' your page. This will send your listing straight through to the portals you have selected.
You also have the option to keep your 'Auto Update' set to 'No' and still push your listing through to a portal using the 'Push Now' button, however, this mean that any updates you make to that listing in the future will not be automatically sent through so you will have to come back to the 'Portals' tab each time you make a change and 'Push Now' every time you want to send your latest update.
