Custom Fields

Custom fields allow you to store extra information about contacts, properties, appraisals and contracts, and more.

For example, you could store a contact's secondary email;
water, council, and strata rates for a property, or the condition of a house in an appraisal.

How to create a custom field

  1. Go to Settings (top right corner)->Custom Fields

  2. You will see 11 different sections where can create custom fields for. The different sections are:

    • Properties

    • Contacts

    • Buyers

    • Contracts

    • Appraisals

    • Account Settings

    • Agents

    • Testimonials

    • Posts

    • Projects

    • Addresses

  3. There are four types of custom fields and they are:

    • Text - You can use this to store a small text value. You can also use this to store a numeric value against a field.

    • Long text - You can use this option to store long text values

    • Date - You can use this to store date value.

    • Dropdown - You can use this to store a pre-defined dropdown options

  4. Type in the name of the custom field you would like to add, select a type of custom field, then click "Add".

Custom Field Groups

Custom field groups make it easier to manage and record information in your custom fields on Listings.

How to create a custom field group

  1. In Eagle, go to Settings in the top right corner

  2. In the left main menu, click into Custom Fields

  3. Ensure you are on the Properties tab, then in the top right corner click 'Create Group'

  4. Enter a name for the custom field group, keep in mind this will also be the heading that is displays when viewing the custom fields on the listing

  5. Set the Listing Types and Property Types that you'd like this custom field to apply to. The custom fields within this group will only show on the listing and property types you select here

  6. Select the tab that you want the custom field group to display on within a listing

How to add new custom field to groups

When creating custom fields on the Custom Field > Properties tab, use the group dropdown to select which custom field group the new custom field should belong to

How to move a custom field to another group

  1. Hover over a custom field

  2. Click edit on the custom field

  3. Select the group you want to move the custom field to

  4. Click Save

Using custom fields in email, letter and SMS templates

Once you have setup custom fields, you can use them in your templates and automations. When you are adding or editing a template, the custom fields will show up the same as any other field. Click here for more information about template tags.
