Eagle allows you to import all different types of data into your database, including contact relationships, contacts, appraisals, notes, and more.

There are three steps to importing your contact relationships.

Step 1. Get a spreadsheet of your existing Contact Relationship data

You may be able to export data from your other software. Please contact your provider where you contact relationship data is currently held for assistance in getting a spreadsheet of your existing data.

Step 2. Get your contact relationship into Eagle format (data transformation)

To do this;

  1. Go to the 'Settings' tab in the top right corner of your screen

  2. This will give you a new menu of options on the left side of your screen. Select 'Data Import' from that menu.

  3. Once in 'Data Import' you will see a list of tab options. Select the 'Contact Relationship' tab.

  4. From here click the button to 'Download The Example File'.

Once you have downloaded the example file;

  1. The column headings must be the same as in the example file

  2. Line 2, 3 & 4 of the example file show how the information needs to be displayed, this is dummy data when you are ready to import this needs to be deleted.

  3. contact1_id and contact2_id need to be an Eagle contact ID. You can get this ID by exporting your contacts from Eagle. You will find the contact 'id' in line 1 of your export. To find out more on how to export contacts, please click here.

  4. relationship_type needs to be one of the relationship types in Eagle. The different types are: spouse, solicitor, client, sibling, child, parent, business partner, associate, house mate, ex-spouse, co-owner, other.

  5. Any date and times must be in the following format: Jun 16, 2017 11:30 or 2017-6-16 11:30 or 16/6/2017 11:30

  6. The file must be saved as a "CSV (Comma delimited) (*.csv)"

Things to note

  • A maximum of 10,000 records can be imported at one time.

  • Your .CSV file size should not exceed 8MB

Step 3. Upload your CSV file

Once your spreadsheet is ready you can now upload your CSV file.

To do this;

  1. Go to the 'Settings' tab in the top right corner of your screen

  2. This will give you a new menu of options on the left side of your screen. Select 'Data Import' from that menu.

  3. Once in 'Data Import' you will see a list of tab options. Select the 'Contact Relationship' tab.
