Eagle allows you to import all different types of data into your database, including bites, contacts, appraisals, notes, and more.

There are three steps to importing your notes.

Step 1. Get a spreadsheet of your existing Notes data

You may be able to export data from your other software. Please contact your provider where you notes data is currently held for assistance in getting a spreadsheet of your existing data.

Step 2. Get your Notes into Eagle format (Data transformation)

To do this;

  1. Go to the 'Settings' tab in the top right corner of your screen

  2. This will give you a new menu of options on the left side of your screen. Select 'Data Import' from that menu.

  3. Once in 'Data Import' you will see a list of tab options. Select the 'Notes' tab.

  4. From here click the button to 'Download The Example File'.

Once you have downloaded the example file;

  1. Line 2, 3 & 4 of the example file show how the information needs to be displayed, this is dummy data when you are ready to import this needs to be deleted.

  2. The column headings must be the same as in the example file

  3. Contact data headings must start with _contact__

  4. If there is contact_id field, this will be used to match the note to a contact instead of the _contact__ fields. You can find your Eagle contact id's in line 1 of a contact export. For instructions on how to Export your Eagle contacts please click here.

  5. You can also add notes to a property, appraisals, contracts, addresses etc. By adding the respective Eagle ids to their designated columns. You will find the Eagle id for each of these areas in line 1 of their respective exports. For instructions on how to export these, please follow the links above.

  6. The file must be saved as a "CSV (Comma delimited) (*.csv)"

Things to note

  • A maximum of 10,000 records can be imported at one time.

  • Your .CSV file size should not exceed 8MB

Step 3. Upload your CSV file

Once your spreadsheet is ready you can now upload your CSV file.

To do this;

  1. Go to the 'Settings' tab in the top right corner of your screen

  2. This will give you a new menu of options on the left side of your screen. Select 'Data Import' from that menu.

  3. Once in 'Data Import' you will see a list of tab options. Select the 'Notes' tab.

  4. From there 'Upload CSV' and select the converted Notes file from your file manager.
